The storm surge rose to 9-9.5 feet in the lowlands of the Arakan and Bangladesh coasts, according to the latest United Nations statement.

Mocha destroyed almost all houses, shelters, schools, mosques, monasteries, clinics and all infrastructure in Sittwe. It also struck the towns of Ponnagyan, Kyauktaw, Mrauk-U, Myebon, Pauktaw and Rathedaung.
