A camera recorded the exact moment when two people riding a motorcycle collided with a car and were thrown into the air. After the crash, one of the crew members of the motorcycle was run over by the driver of the vehicle involved. The event occurred in zone 1 of Quetzaltenango.
The mishap occurred this Wednesday, July 5, on Rodolfo Robles street between 25 and 26 avenues in zone 1 of the western department.
The video shows how the motorist, who was accompanied by another person, drives on the main lane, but hits a vehicle that was just trying to cross the street at that moment.
Due to the impact, the motorcycle driver and his companion were ejected and fell to the ground. However, the driver of the vehicle continues his march and runs over the person who was driving the motorcycle and who was ahead of him.
The images also show that moments after the incident, the residents of the sector reacted quickly and approached the two injured to assist them. Several of them arrive in front of the vehicle to help the motorist.
The Volunteer Firefighters from the nearest station responded to the neighbor’s alert and reported that they treated the two injured.

Survive the accident
The lifeguards confirmed that the motorist is a 23-year-old man, who was identified as Fernando Catinac Gramajo and his companion was Rosa María Arriola.
According to the report, Catinac Gramajo was conscious when he was treated and had considerable blows to different parts of his body. He was transferred to the emergency room of the Guatemalan Social Security Institute (IGGS).
Likewise, the lifeguards indicated that apparently the motorist was driving under the influence of liquor and that, according to witnesses, the other driver was trying to flee after the crash.

The event adds to a streak of accidents that have been registered this Wednesday, July 5, which have left the balance of three deaths and material damage.
The most recent was the multiple collision between a trailer, which apparently ran out of brakes, and three other vehicles on the Cuatro Caminos viaduct, in Totonicapán.
A series of images and videos show how the vehicles were after the impact, including one that was almost destroyed.

Another traffic accident occurred in the early hours of this same Wednesday, July 5, when a farm truck swerved into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a truck.
The mishap occurred at km 181 of the Cito-Zarco route, Santa Cruz Muluá, jurisdiction of Retalhuleu and left three dead and two seriously injured.
