The former Uruguayan porn star Mía Etcheverría (27) was arrested after the Police surprised her when she was trying to traffic cocaine to Spain. The actress and model was captured at the Montevideo Airport, where she was accompanying a group of people who were carrying a suitcase with that substance. Although she tried to detach herself from the case, the investigators have indications that incriminate her in planning her transfer.
Etcheverría, who was a couple and had two children with former Uruguayan national team striker Richard “Chengue” Morales, has been detained since June 24. That time she was caught in a routine control in the check-in sector. She was with two men (29 and 36 years old) and two women (26 and 36).
Personnel from the Carrasco International Airport Delegation, belonging to the General Directorate for the Suppression of Illicit Drug Traffic (DGRTID), detected that they were carrying 6,502 kilos of cocaine distributed in two suitcases.

The woman, whose real name is Camila Navarro, declared in the first instance that she was a friend of one of the men (the 29-year-old) and that she did not know what was in her luggage. She assured that they had bought clothes together a few days before the flight and that she had even helped him buy the air ticket to Barajas, in Madrid.
“There is only one woman who went to accompany a friend on a trip and found herself in that situation,” said her lawyer, in statements collected by the Montevideo Portal.
However, the analysis of WhatsApp conversations revealed that there was no friendly relationship between the five defendants and that, in the previous days, they had been planning cocaine trafficking.

According to this exchange of messages, Etcheverría had dedicated himself to putting together these two suitcases, which had a double bottom device to hide the drugs. “Inside the suitcases there were six plates of white substance,” detailed the Uruguayan Ministry of the Interior.
What crimes are charged to Mía Etcheverría and the rest of the defendants
The actress and model were given 90 days in pretrial detention. She is charged as an accomplice for attempted export of drugs. In any case, her and her defense requested that she serve house arrest, which was granted with monitoring by electronic device.
The 29-year-old man, in whose luggage the cocaine plates were found, would have committed the crime of “attempted export of narcotics.” On the other three companions, meanwhile, the same crime falls, although as co-authors.
