New York police set up barricades outside the prosecutor’s office

New York police officers set up barricades today in front of the Manhattan prosecutor’s office where former president Donald Trump is expected to be summoned, which will cause protests.

Trump has said earlier that he expects to be “arrested” on Tuesday over a hush money payment to a porn star in 2016, and has urged his supporters to protest, as prosecutors appear to have begun moving in the case.

Citing a “leak” from the Manhattan prosecutor’s office as a source, Trump wrote on his network over the weekend: “The leading candidate for president will be arrested on Tuesday. Protest to take back our nation!”

The probe is believed to relate to a $130,000 payment made before the 2016 election to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to not speak out about an affair with Trump several years earlier.

If the Manhattan prosecutor indicts Trump, the 76-year-old would become the first former president to be charged with a crime.

Trump denies having an intimate relationship with Daniels.
