The Unión de la Patria candidate pointed to the Minister of Economy and maintained that he “went to take an exam” before the Campo.

Juan Grabois, who competes with Sergio Massa in the presidential internship of Unión por la Patria, pointed to his rival for having gone “to take an exam” at La Rural and maintained that “no politician from our field should go to banquet with the masters of the oligarchy.”

Although he does not specifically mention Massa, he did so in a lengthy tweet where he shared a Clarín note highlighting the Economy Minister’s lunch with La Rural leaders.

Grabois also pointed against the rest of the candidates who were in La Rural exposing their work plans. In his reading, it was a competition “to see who gives more concessions” to those who “have worked against the great country and speculate with the food of our people in an Argentina with 60% of children below the poverty line and inflation of 115%,” he added.

Grabois also anticipated that, if he is elected president, he will seize the Palermo property from the Argentine Rural Society to build schools.

“This is a public space expropriated from the people and appropriated by the richest of the rich. When we win, we will enforce with all the rigor of its legality decree 2552 signed by CFK in December 2012 that annuls the fraudulent sale of the Palermo fairgrounds with which Menen, Cavallo and Rural Dirt (sic) defrauded Argentina in 1991 (final ruling),” he commented.

“We are going to recover the place for the People and make a great educational, scientific, technological and cultural center, public and free, in addition to a permanent market of regional economies, agroecology, family, peasant and indigenous agriculture, taking immediate possession of the property as soon as we take office,” he promised.

The Peronist leader targeted the main leaders of the Rural Society: “Do you know who Nicolás Pino and Marcos Pereda Born are? Delfín of Luis Miguel Etchevehere the first, financier of María Eugenia Vidal the second, both conspicuous conspirators against the people… and chronic usurpers of public property”.

“Our fight for a Humane Argentina is nothing more than giving back to the people what was stolen from them, that the land be for those who work it and those who need it to live. Let’s be true to our history. Let’s recover what is ours ”, concluded the pre-candidate.

What Massa said in La Rural

The economist announced that as of September 1 “no regional economy” will pay withholdings. “There are not 200 regional economies as I recently heard that have withholdings, until August 30 there are only 6 left. And as of September 1, no regional economy in Argentina will pay withholding,” he said.

So far, there are 6 regional economies that pay this tribute: peanuts, wine, rice, forestry, tobacco and citrus peels.

Massa made reference to the importance of the agricultural sector for the country. “For more than 20 years I have carried out different responsibilities in public life. I have always raised in public and in private the agricultural sector and the agro-industrial sector that I consider it one of the great turbines of the Argentine economy. They never had the difficulty of a confrontation with me, “he said.

“I am going to work as president so that we occupy more and more places in the world’s food markets. I am going to work so that we have added value in our field. I am going to work to increase the level of investment that we have already launched today in terms of rural connectivity,” he closed.

According to Clarín in the note cited by Grabois, Massa’s lunch with the leaders of La Rural marked the first presence in 34 years of a Peronist candidate at the Palermo table. The last one had been Carlos Menem in 1989.
