New York Dems seen with Chinese secret police suspect
Fox News’ Bryan Llenas reports on New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, DN.Y., rubbing elbows with the man arrested by the FBI for going to allegedly running a Chinese secret police agency.
A New York Democrat blamed “institutional misogyny” when she resigned as leader of the government following allegations that a staffer tried to recruit someone he believed to be an underage girl.
Catherine Borgia, chairman of the Westchester County Board of Legislators, resigned Friday under pressure from colleagues who said she had done nothing when she was told in December that the staffer was caught on video by a vigilante group who tricked him into thinking he was a met a 14-year-old.
She resigned after filing a lawsuit on Wednesday that temporarily prevented her colleagues from voting her out as top legislator, but that injunction was lifted Friday. She resigned 30 minutes before co-legislators were due to hold a vote, The Journal News reported.
Borgia argued in a statement released Friday that “institutional misogyny” led to her firing, the New York Post reported.

“Each chairperson of this body will take his seat knowing that if nine colleagues disagree with any of the myriad decisions required by the position, he/she/it may also be removed at any time,” Borgia said in the statement after her resignation. “I am saddened that my colleagues chose to take the path that most jeopardizes the county’s work.”
Borgia will keep her board seat despite leaving her leadership position. The Democratic council is made up of 17 legislators, seven of whom are women.

“I believe the events of the past 10 days are politically motivated and based on institutional misogyny that is all too pervasive in the ruthless, reactive and narrow-minded political world we all now live in,” Borgia told the Post.

“The past 10 days, however, have also seen an overwhelming amount of support, encouragement, love and well wishes, some from surprising quarters. I can’t tell you how encouraged I was to receive it. Thank you to all of you,” she said.

Former legislative assistant Anand Singh, 33, was fired on April 13 after a video published by vigilante group OBL Global showed him allegedly trying to meet up with someone he believed to be an underage girl in New Jersey.

The 31-minute video shows a man, allegedly Singh, messaging someone he thought was a 14-year-old woman, but who was actually an OBL Global “decoy.” The messages become more sexual in nature, the video shows, with Singh reportedly saying he could “definitely teach her a thing or two,” speculating she weighs less than 100 pounds, and asking if she was on birth control.
“What are you going to bring tomorrow,” the decoy asks in a phone call, according to the video.
“I can bring some toys. You know, plan B,” Singh reportedly replied before saying, “See you soon, girl.”

Members of OBL Global confronted Singh in New Jersey, where he allegedly believed the girl was located.
Although the video was not made public until April 12, Borgia was aware of the allegations dating back to December. She said she took the allegations “very seriously” since she first found out, but her colleagues questioned why Singh was only fired this month.
Singh has not been arrested, but Borgia previously said she had referred the case to the FBI and the Westchester District Attorney’s Office is investigating.

It appears that the OBL Global video published earlier this month is no longer active on the group’s YouTube page.
Borgia’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
