Oklahoma officials are still searching for a prime suspect who shot four people Wednesday night in Tulsa, killing one.
Tulsa police warned the community to remain vigilant as the suspect believed to have shot four victims outside a home near 31st Street and Harvard is considered “armed and dangerous.” One died of his injuries, police said.
TPD Captain Richard Meulenberg told reporters on the scene that the shooting escalated after an argument that continued throughout the day.
“This was an absolutely tragic incident,” said Meulenberg, “where people were fighting with each other, which erupted into horrific gun violence and someone was killed as a result.”

The condition of two victims is critical, the status of the third victim is unknown. All of the victims, including the only deceased victim, were described as black males in their 20s.
The police commander said the shooting was believed to have been targeted and that the suspect used a gun, though he said no weapon was recovered at the scene.

“This is not a random shooting, so it’s not like we have a murderous guy just shooting random people. He clearly had a specific target here or a group of targets, but he’s still armed and dangerous. So whether he’s other has targets, whether he will do something irrational if he is pushed into a corner, we don’t know at the moment,” said Meulenberg.

He continued: “It’s a problem we see in this country where people just can’t figure out their problems and go straight to violence.”
Meulenberg said there was at least one suspect who shot multiple victims, but said the investigation was in its preliminary stages and he couldn’t say if there were multiple shooters.
“Until we start collecting the physical evidence and see what kind of casings we have, what kind of bullet impacts we have, we won’t be able to determine whether it was multiple people who shot or just one person,” Meulenberg said.

He added: “So all we ask is to have a heightened awareness, as you always should, and if you happen to have any information about this particular incident and this particular suspect, we beg people to give us a call , tell us.” know what happens because we only have a successful solve rate on our murders because of the work with the community. We wouldn’t be as successful as we were if they didn’t help us.’
