The assailants wanted to rob a man in a supermarket parking lot. One of the attackers is a minor.

Three armed criminals, one of them wounded, were arrested this Friday in Mar del Plata after being involved in a shootout with the Police, which prevented them from robbing a man who was parking his car in a supermarket.

The episode began at noon this Friday, when a young man was getting out of his Volkswagen Amarok truck after having parked at the hypermarket located on the corner of Rawson Street and Champagnat Avenue.

According to police sources, the man was intercepted by three criminals. Police agents who were on board a patrol car witnessed the attempted robbery and gave them the voice to stop.

Far from turning themselves in, the attackers responded with shots and ran away from the place, where they abandoned the Ford Fiesta in which they were traveling and which had been stolen last Wednesday in that seaside resort.

It was then that the persecution began. The police officers radioed the entire force to what had happened. Twenty blocks from the place, one of the criminals, 30 years old, who had a gunshot wound to his leg, was arrested.

Some time later the other two assailants fell. One of them, 17 years old, was captured 15 blocks from the supermarket, at the intersection of Alvarado and Tres Arroyos streets. He seized a .22 caliber pistol.

The other thief, 23 years old, was arrested in Bahía Blanca and San Lorenzo. He was carrying a 9 mm pistol.

In the fact, personnel from the 4th police station intervened. and was in charge of the prosecutor of the Juvenile Criminal Responsibility Jurisdiction Marcelo Yañez Urrutia, due to the participation in the act of a 17-year-old adolescent.

The judicial official ordered the transfer of the minor to the Admission and Referral Center (CAD), while the two older ones were taken to prison unit 44 of Batán, accused of the crime of aggravated robbery for their commission in a town and in a gang and for the intervention of a minor in the degree of attempt and possession of a firearm.

The injured criminal was treated by personnel from the Emergency Medical Care System (SAME) and his hospitalization was not necessary.

Then tragedy broke out in Mar del Plata: an explosion due to gas accumulation left him with third-degree burns. The man died five days later, after his condition worsened in the hospital.

Pedraza was admitted to the Hospital Interzonal General de Agudos Mar del Plata. Some neighbors had taken him there who helped him after the explosion at his house located on Arana y Goiri and JN Fernández streets, in the Don Emilio neighborhood, in the southwestern part of the city.

When they took him to the medical center, he was conscious and lucid but with serious injuries, said the newspaper La Capital of that seaside resort.

Pedraza was not alone in his house at dawn of the accident. He was accompanied by his wife (74), who gave her account of the episode.

According to her testimony, both were resting at home during the early hours of the morning, and when her husband got up to get water, he turned on a light and the explosion occurred.

Minutes after the transfer of the man to the hospital, police officers from the 11th Police Station. They arrived in the neighborhood and found the house on fire. The woman only needed medical attention on the spot and she should not have been admitted.
