A Maryland pastor was discovered responsible of sexually assaulting a parishioner at his Montgomery County church.
Erick Odir Vidal-Fuentes, 39, pastor of Iglesia Pentecostal El Fin Viene, was convicted Tuesday of second-degree rape and a fourth-degree sexual offense towards a parishioner, Takoma Park police mentioned in a press launch.
In response to Montgomery State Lawyer John McCarthy, “Vidal-Fuentes abused his place as head of a church to achieve this parishioner’s belief, after which betrayed her belief by victimizing her.”

The state prosecutor’s workplace mentioned the assault happened on September 29, 2020 on the Iglesia Pentecostal El Fin Viene in Takoma Park. In June 2021, the Takoma Park Police Division started investigating the sexual misconduct allegations.
Vidal-Fuentes was arrested as he left the church on August 5, 2021 and charged with second-degree rape and fourth-degree sexual offense.
The sufferer has not been recognized.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 4 and Vidal-Fuentes faces as much as 20 years in jail.
A second sexual assault case towards Vidal-Fuentes is at present pending. One other church member got here ahead and testified at this trial.
