New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones, 25, was arrested Friday at Logan Airport in Boston, Massachusetts, on multiple gun-related charges, police said.

Jones was planning to travel from Boston to Arizona when he was pulled over at a Transportation Security Administration security checkpoint, the Massachusetts State Police said, according to WCVB. He now faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large-capacity feed device, and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card.

A TSA spokesperson told WCVB that officers found two loaded guns and ammunition in the carry-on bag of a passenger with a ticket to Los Angeles International Airport. The incident happened around 5:20 p.m

According to the TSA, firearms may only be taken on a commercial airliner if they have been unloaded, packed in a locked hard-sided case, and placed in checked baggage. Ammunition, firearm frames, receivers, clips and magazines must also be checked and not carried in hand luggage.

The TSA said Jones’s two guns brought the total number of firearms discovered by the bureau in carry-ons at Boston’s Logan Airport to 10 by 2023.

“So far this year, more than 2,900 firearms have been discovered by TSA agents across the country,” the TSA said. “More than 92% of that is loaded.”
