The Nationwide Park Service says a lacking New Mexico man who’s “believed to have tried journey down the Colorado River along with his canine on a picket raft” has been discovered lifeless inside Grand Canyon Nationwide Park.
Thomas Robison, 58, of Santa Fe, was found by park rangers within the Colorado River on Friday, in line with the NPS.

Robison’s physique is now being examined by the Coconino County Medical Examiner and the NPS is investigating the incident. The NPS says “preliminary info” signifies that the physique is of Robison.
The reason for his dying is unclear.
It comes after an Arizona hiker died on a preferred Grand Canyon mountain climbing path in November 2023 in what was the tenth dying that 12 months on the nationwide park.
The NPS recognized that hiker as 65-year-old James Handschy of Oracle, Arizona.
Handschy had set off for a hike from the South Rim to the river and again alongside the Vivid Angel Path, the company stated, a roundtrip of about 18 miles.
