The leader of a Democratic opposition group celebrates after a new ad from a group that supported former President Donald Trump’s bid for the White House in 2024 brought to life his vision of an ad when it used pudding to promote Florida’s governor, Ron DeSantis, to target.
Last month, Pat Dennis, the president of American Bridge 21st Century, which is “focused on holding Republicans accountable and helping them win Democratic victories,” jokingly presented an anti-DeSantis ad idea. in a tweet: “paid ad with a ron desantis lookalike eating pudding with his fingers, but it says medicare and social security, is that a thing”?
Nearly a month after he made the comment, Dennis’ sentiment became a reality.
Earlier this week, the Make America Great Again Inc. PAC, which is not directly related to Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, ran an ad showing a DeSantis-type actor eating chocolate pudding while the narrator claimed he “has his dirty fingers on senior citizens’ rights.” .”

“Ron DeSantis likes to put his fingers where they don’t belong and we’re not just talking about pudding,” the narrator said. “DeSantis has his dirty fingers all over senior entitlements. Like cutting Medicare, cutting Social Security, even raising our retirement age.”
“Tell Ron DeSantis to keep his pudding fingers off our money,” the narrator concludes. “Oh, and someone is spooning this man.”
After the release of the “pudding fingers” ad, Dennis took to Twitter to rejoice that his idea had been considered, while seemingly mocking the PAC that supported Trump.
“They did it, those crazy bastards did it,” Dennis wrote.
The hit against DeSantis, who is widely speculated to be pursuing the GOP nomination for president in 2024, comes after it was reported in March that the governor once ate chocolate pudding with three fingers.
The Daily Beast report on DeSantis’ “distant” personality is said to have come from the accounts of anonymous former staffers and GOP agents. Reporters Jake Lahut and Zachary Petrizzo said DeSantis “struggles with basic social skills”, exhibits “an aversion to small talk” and “general pleasantries” that “make him difficult” during unplanned interactions.
In addition to various claims about his personal habits, one claim the article focused on was DeSantis’s table manners.

“The chatter about DeSantis’ public involvement has also surfaced in recent unflattering stories about his social skills, particularly his tendency to devour food in meetings,” the reporters wrote.
Anchored in DeSantis lore is an episode from four years ago: During a private plane trip from Tallahassee to Washington, D.C., in March 2019, DeSantis enjoyed a chocolate pudding dessert — eating it with three of his fingers, according to two sources are familiar with the incident,” the newspaper said. DeSantis denied that the incident ever happened.
However, the pro-Trump PAC is not the first group to launch attacks on DeSantis because of Social Security and Medicare.
In the 2018 GOP Florida gubernatorial primary, Adam Putnam, who served as the Sunshine State’s Agriculture Commissioner from 2011 to 2019, carried out similar attacks at DeSantis in a campaign ad that PolitiFact called misleading and exaggerated.
The ad titled “Seniors First” featured older Florida residents who supported Trump, but not DeSantis.
