Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s presence on the opening of a Holocaust museum in Amsterdam has sparked protests over Israel’s army operations in Gaza.
Activists calling for a ceasefire gathered in a sq. close to the Nationwide Holocaust Museum.
Indicators had been seen studying “Jews Towards Genocide,” and “The Grandchild of a Holocaust Survivor Says: Cease the Holocaust in Gaza.”
A smaller contingent of protesters waved Israeli flags.
The museum stated it invited Mr. Herzog earlier than the Hamas assault on Oct. 7, which led to Israel’s floor offensive in Gaza.
An announcement acknowledged that Mr. Herzog’s presence raised questions, however added that he represented the homeland of Dutch Holocaust survivors who had emigrated to Israel.

An authentic model of this video incorrectly quoted the President of Israel calling for the discharge of “Jewish hostages,” when in truth he was calling for the discharge of hostages generally. The video has been corrected to replicate this.
