Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the opening ceremony of Turkey’s Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant via video link, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
“It will be in videoconference format,” Peskov told reporters at a press conference in Moscow, referring to the first Turkish nuclear power plant, built in collaboration with Russia’s state nuclear power company Rosatom and set to open on Thursday, April 27. .
Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant in the south of Mersin will be the first nuclear power plant of the country with its 4,800 megawatt installed power and four reactors.
The project began with an intergovernmental agreement between Turkey and Russia in 2010, and the entire facility is expected to be operational by 2025.
Kremlin Spokesperson Peskov, in response to the question about the letter written by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to Putin regarding the implementation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, said that the letter was received and evaluated through diplomatic channels.
However, he warned the UK about the responsibility for the delivery of depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine and those considering using it.
“The British must understand that they will have to assume responsibility. And of course those who will directly use such ammunition should understand that these ammunition will not only cause irreparable harm to themselves and their citizens, but will also have to take responsibility for it.” “There was stress.
Commenting on the presidential decree introducing external management to two foreign companies in Russia, Peskov said it was a response to “aggressive actions by unfriendly countries aimed at creating a legal framework for the seizure of assets of Russian companies abroad.”
He said some states are moving towards confiscation of Russian companies’ property from foreign administration.
“This decree does not question the ownership and does not deprive the owners of their assets, the external administration is temporary and only means: the original owner no longer has the right to make management decisions.”
Peskov added that the list of companies to which the decree applies could be extended.
Putin said he is closely monitoring the situation with forest fires, including in the Sverdlovsk region, where 134 houses were burned on Tuesday.
