In American politics, there is a small group of leaders who are – to use a Hollywood term – hitmakers. Everything they touch seems to turn to gold.
There is perhaps no better example of this in Democratic politics than Rahm Emanuel. For those in need of a refresher, Rahm is a former Bill Clinton adviser, turned Illinois congressman, became DCCC chairman, became Barack Obama’s chief of staff, became mayor of Chicago…and currently serves as Joe Biden’s ambassador to Japan.
