I love to talk about the food of New York City, where I was born and raised. But it’s not just bagels and pizza. Instead, when I have friends in town, I let them try my New York City flavors.
Those flavors include pickles and mofongo, pork and marinated chicken bao, bodega coffee, and pastrami on rye. So many New Yorkers weren’t born in New York, which is part of the reason our food is so good: it tastes like a little bit of everything.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the taste of home while reading this delicious twist through some of New York City’s most distinctive restaurants. And it got me thinking about you, and where you might take a friend for a great local meal.
So I ask the readers of the Asia Pacific Morning Briefing: What do you feed visitors to give them a real taste of your hometown? Why is this food especially for you?
We may include your response in a future edition of the newsletter. Thank you for your contribution.
