French car manufacturer Renault said Thursday that revenues had grown 30% in the first quarter on the back of an uptick in sales and higher prices.
Boosted by the launch of several premium models, including the electric version of Megane, Arkana and Austral, the group recorded a sales increase of 14.1% over the period to 535,000 units, after four consecutive years of decline.
Revenue came in at 11.5 billion euros ($12.60 billion), compared to an analyst consensus of 11.08 billion euros provided by the company.
Renault confirmed its targets for 2023, with a group operating margin of at least 6% and an operating free cash flow in the automotive sector of at least 2 billion euros.
It said the order book in Europe stood at 3.3 months of revenue at the end of the first quarter and would remain above the 2-month target through 2023.
