Dennis Yadiel Sánchez Martín claimed 10 million dollars for damages caused by alleged sexual abuse. Previously, the artist had filed a complaint against the young man for extortion.
Ricky Martin asked the Court of First Instance of San Juan, Puerto Rico to dismiss the counterclaim filed this month by his nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sánchez Martín, who claimed 10 million dollars for the damages that, allegedly, he caused for practicing against him ” non-consensual sexual conduct” since he was 11 years old.
In this new counterclaim, which was presented to the Court on May 3, a series of alleged non-consensual sexual encounters between the singer and his nephew, son of his sister on the father’s side, Vanessa Martin, are detailed.
In this context, the lawyers for the Puerto Rican singer described these claims as “frivolous and reckless”, while they defined the alleged damages as “unreal and/or speculative”, for which they asked to dismiss the counterclaim.

In addition, the artist “absolutely and unequivocally” denied the accusations, while he assured the Court that he was never alone with his nephew “neither in his car nor in his dressing room or anywhere else”, since Sánchez Martín ” He was accompanied at all times by other members of the family.
What the counterclaim of Ricky Martin’s nephew says
As detailed in the new lawsuit, these alleged non-consensual sexual encounters would have taken place in places such as the artist’s car when he was going to pick up his nephew at the Sotero Figueroa school in San Juan. According to his testimony, Ricky Martin “stalked” the minor, taking him to different places in San Juan without leaving the vehicle and to lonely places to “have oral and genital sexual relations.”
“The non-consensual sexual relations continued after middle school and during the years that the plaintiff herein Sánchez Martín was under the age of twenty-one (21). In the following years, telephone and social media communications between the parties intensified.” , details.
The counterclaim also maintains that “one year before filing the request for a protection order under the Domestic Violence Law in Court, the plaintiff here Sánchez Martin constantly warned Ricky Martin that he felt harassed and asked him to stop his constant communications.

Apparently, since the insistence on the part of the Puerto Rican artist did not stop, his nephew chose to take the case to court.
“The actions of non-consensual sexual contact with a minor, in addition to constituting crimes, caused enormous damage to Sánchez Martin, who had neither the maturity nor the legal capacity to consent to sexual acts initiated by an adult, in this case, Ricky Martin,” the counterclaim concludes.
For all this, Sánchez Martin indicates that “the damages for this non-consensual sexual conduct are estimated at around ten million dollars and are liquid and payable at this time.”

The Justice granted the singer a protection order for stalking against his nephew, which was extended for a year last November. His lawyer has already spoken through a statement about what the artist’s nephew wanted, assuring that his nephew’s accusations are part of a pattern of “harassment” against him.
“These statements are tremendously offensive and completely false and unrelated to reality,” insisted the lawyer. “This individual has a clear agenda that is the product of a diseased mind that clearly needs help.”
When did the conflict between Ricky Martin and his nephew begin?
The legal controversies between the singer and his nephew began in July 2022, when Sánchez Martin was granted an exparte domestic violence protection order against his uncle, which, however, was filed that same month at the young man’s request.
Subsequently, the court granted Enrique Martin Morales, the singer’s first name, a protection order for stalking his nephew, which was extended for one year last November.
The measure orders Sánchez “to refrain from harassing, persecuting, intimidating, threatening or in any other way interfering with the petitioner or with members of his family,” as well as not to go near his home or that of his relatives and not to contact him by via phone, email or social media.
For his part, Sánchez sued his uncle for sexual assault in early September, but a judge denied the requested protection order in October.
