A serial stalker accused of groping women in San Francisco last year has been convicted of multiple crimes, authorities said Wednesday.
Bill Gene Hobbs, 34, would approach victims and make unwanted advances, prosecutors said. He would touch them and then flee, authorities said.
A jury convicted him of false imprisonment, sexual battery, battery and assault.

“The jury’s verdict brings justice to all the women who have been victims of Mr. Hobbs,” said San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “He will now face the consequences for his unacceptable behavior and brutal harassment of women across San Francisco.”

Hobbs was arrested on October 14, 2022 by U.S. Park Police and the San Francisco Police Department. He was involved in several attacks in the city starting around September 2022.
