‘Sophie’s Alternative’ Producer Was 92

Martin Starger, the primary president of ABC Leisure who went on to provide such movies as “Sophie’s Alternative” and Robert Altman’s “Nashville,” has died. He was 92.

Starger died of pure causes Saturday in his Los Angeles house, his niece, casting director Ilene Starger, introduced.

Starger was born Might 8, 1932, within the Bronx, NY He attended the Metropolis Faculty of New York, the place he obtained a level in movement image strategies. He was drafted into the US Military in 1953 and was assigned to the Sign Corps Movement Image Location. He served as a movement image photographer on the US Military’s movie manufacturing studio. He produced or govt produced the TV films “Pleasant Hearth,” “Escape From Sobibor,” “All Quiet on the Western Entrance,” “The Service provider of Venice” and “The Elephant Man.”
