A group of sorority sisters has filed a lawsuit against the national sorority organization after a trans woman got permission to move into their student house.
Seven members of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority at the University of Wyoming have sued a judge to annul 21-year-old Artemis Langford’s membership and award unspecified damages, according to the lawsuit obtained by Cowboy StateDaily.
One of the members has asked the fraternity board to ensure that the house is built kept as a “women only” safe spaceand a number of members expressed concern about shared bathroom facilities that lack locks.

The lawsuit states, “An adult human male does not become a woman just because he tells others he has a female ‘gender identity’ and acts in what he believes is stereotypically female.”
Ms Langford, who is six feet tall, does not currently live in the house, but residents say she has spent a “considerable” amount of time there and has been given permission to move in from September.
The women who filed the lawsuit have claimed Ms. Langford was visibly agitated in their company, and some sorority members told Megyn Kelly’s podcast that residents felt “uncomfortable” and “constantly scared” in the house when she was present.
One of the sorority students, Hannah, told Kelly, “Men are never allowed on the second floor of our house, except to get in and out.
“So it’s a female-only space and not like living in the dorms. We only share a few large bathrooms, but it’s supposed to be a safe space for us to rest our heads at night.”
Another member, Jaylyn, added: “All bathrooms are shared areas and there are no private changing areas or locks. It is very open and vulnerable.”

The suit alleges that the fraternity council “betrayed the central purpose and mission of Kappa Kappa Gamma by confusing the experience of being a woman with the experience of men engaging in behaviors generally associated with women.”

The sorority had voted on whether Ms. Langford should be admitted, but several members claimed that the president and member chairperson of the chapter dismissed their concerns.
The opponents of Ms Langford’s confession were reported to have been told by another member of the sorority: “Regardless of what your political views are, our Kappa values are acceptance and kindness, so if that’s something you disagree withthat is not in line with Kappa values.”
The sorority leadership reportedly told members that if they have any issues with Ms. Langford, they can “drop out”.
A member of the sorority told The National Review magazine that she could drop out of school next semester as a result.
The women told the podcast that they understood that trans women need to be protected and have their own safe place, but argue that trans women like Ms. Langford moving in with them is not the solution.
