LIMA, HONDURAS.
two alleged ringleaders of the criminal structure gang 18 were captured this Wednesday by agents of the Anti-Maras Police Department and Padillas Against Organized Crime (Dipampco)in the La Planeta sector, La Lima (Cortés), northern Honduras.
One of the detainees responds to the name of Bayron Daniel Amaya Rivera (26)known in the criminal world by the alias “El Leopardo”, who has been an active member of the 18 Gang for approximately four years.
According to Dimpapco, Amaya Rivera has the rank of “homie” and is in charge of collecting money from extortion charges, frightening his victims through phone calls demanding large amounts of money.
The second subject arrested was identified as Jonathan Joel Sanchez Gutierrez, alias “Potopo”, whom the authorities link to extortion, mobilization of weapons and theft of vehicles, with which he commits different crimes, by orders of deprived of liberty.
Both individuals have criminal record, being previously arrested for crimes of domestic violence and public scandal, respectively.
At the time of capture, they were confiscated cash and two cell phones. Finally, the alleged members of the 18 were referred to the corresponding authorities, accused of the crime of extortion.
