A routine site visitors cease in Texas on Friday uncovered 27 unlawful immigrants being smuggled in a horse trailer, the Texas Division of Public Security (DPS) confirmed.
Officers posted a video on X exhibiting a DPS trooper stopping a Ford-250 towing a horse trailer on US-281 in Hidalgo County on Friday.
The driving force, troopers recognized as Jose Guadalupe Salinas, of Palmview, Texas.
When questioned what was within the trailer, Salinas informed the officer that he had two horses within the trailer.

The officer then requested for consent to look the trailer.
Salinas informed the officer to “watch out, they’re aggressive” after which voluntarily opened the facet hatch for the officer.
In the course of the search, troopers found 27 individuals crammed inside a storage space of the trailer, “distressed and sweating profusely.”

The trooper is heard and seen asking the immigrants in the event that they want water.
Officers stated three females had been severely dehydrated and required medical consideration because of excessive warmth and no air flow.
Troopers referred the people from Mexico to the U.S. Border Patrol.

USBP took custody of Salinas, and shall be submitting federal costs for the smuggling of individuals.
