A plane bound for southwest Houston, Texas, was detained at a New Orleans terminal on May 29 to allow authorities to remove a passenger who refused to disembark when requested.

Deputies from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident at about 7:45 pm on May 29.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said the passenger, Kamaryn Gibson, 25, of Olathe, Kansas, caused the plane to malfunction after it exited the gate at Louis Armstrong New Orleans Airport.
