A 34-year-old woman from Kosovo who lives in Aargau, Switzerland, has become a hero after saving the life of a 4-year-old boy who was drowning in the pool.

Nazlie Seliamj, who works as a nurse, intervened immediately after seeing the boy drowning in a pool in St. Gallen. She had gone to the swimming pool to spend a nice day with her family, but she also became the reason for saving the Afghan boy’s life.

“I was eating ice cream with my husband and my 5- and 9-year-old sons when the husband saw a father running to the pool. He pulled the boy out of the water and was holding the unconscious boy in his arms. His father was devastated,” the 34-year-old told the Blick media.

She immediately ran to them both, took the child from his father’s arms and gave him first aid.

“I laid the boy on the floor because I couldn’t feel his pulse and I massaged his heart with one hand, he regained consciousness,” said Nazlie.
