A woman was captured this Friday for trying to deposit Q4 thousand with counterfeit bills in a bank agency in zone 2 of Mazatenango, reported the National Civil Police (PNC).
The event occurred specifically in a small agency located on the Centenario road of said municipality.
The captured woman was identified as Ana “N”, 32 years old and, according to the PNC, she tried to make the deposit with several Q200 bills.
According to the narration of the events that the PNC published on its social networks, the bank receiver, after the woman requested the deposit, noticed a different texture on the bills, different from the paper used in conventional bills. .
Through a “counterfeit bill detection machine”, the bank receiver established that the money used by Ana “N” had been counterfeit.
Bank agency personnel immediately contacted PNC agents to capture the woman.
