A court handed down a sentence against a person for the crime of seducing children and adolescents through the use of information technologies, the Public Ministry (MP) reported this Tuesday, September 26.
The court found Francisco Javier Cordón Martínez, whose age was not specified, guilty of having requested naked photographs of a teenager while he was a professor.
The Public Ministry reported that the case was concluded through the investigation and litigation work of the Unit against Online Child Sexual Exploitation, of the Prosecutor’s Office against Human Trafficking.
The specialized unit requested the arrest after the complaint filed by the teenager who was a victim of Cordón Martínez. He was her professor and he requested photographs without clothes through the instant messaging network WhatsApp.
Sentence
The convicted person, Cordón Martínez, was sentenced to six years of incommutable prison. In addition, he was sentenced to 3 years and 3 months in prison for the crime of possession of pornographic material of minors with special aggravating circumstances.
As part of the sentence, the special disqualification of Cordón Martínez from working as a teacher was ordered for double the time of the sentence imposed and his registration in the National Registry of Sexual Offenders (Renas).

The court also resolved the confiscation of the electronic devices in favor of the Public Ministry.
The now sentenced man was arrested on July 14, 2022 during a raid carried out at his residence located in the municipality of Mixco, Guatemala.
This is the first case related to the crime of seduction of boys, girls and adolescents through the use of information technologies, contemplated in article 190 bis of the Penal Code, Decree 17-73, which was added by Decree 11- 2022 and came into effect on March 11, 2022.
