The federal trial of David DePape, the California man accused of assaulting Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul at the couple’s San Francisco home last year, begins Oct. 23.

The detail emerged Wednesday when DePape — dressed in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffed at the knees — appeared in federal court in San Francisco.

At the hearing, DePape’s attorney said he plans to file for a venue change in the coming weeks, which will be followed by a hearing in May, according to Fox News’ Claudia Cowan.

Despite saying he didn’t want to jeopardize his cause, DePape told KTVU that he attacked Pelosi because “liberty doesn’t die, but is killed systematically and deliberately.”

The “people who kill it have names and addresses, so I have their names and addresses so I could pay them a little visit … have a frank conversation about their bad behavior,” he claimed.

DePape also issued a chilling apology for not going further.

“I want to apologize to everyone. I messed up. What I did was really bad. I’m so sorry I didn’t get more of it. It’s my own fault. No one else is to blame. I had better have to come.” prepared,” he said.

Also in late January, a California court released surveillance and bodycam video of the Oct. 28, 2022 attack on Paul Pelosi, which sent the 82-year-old to a hospital for emergency surgery for a skull fracture.

Part of the footage shows police knocking on the door of Pelosi’s house, before the door opens to reveal Pelosi and DePape.

Another clip, shot in black and white, shows DePape approaching Pelosis’ San Francisco home and dropping several bags on the floor. He then rummaged through the bags before apparently pulling a hammer from his clothing and swinging at a glass door, eventually entering the house.
