Patricio Pacheco, 22, was murdered this Saturday morning in General Pinto, Buenos Aires province, after being stabbed by a criminal who has 39 criminal cases in a square, after an altercation between the two.
The victim returned from dancing with his friends and got off a van that was taking him to his home in the public square located on Villegas and Miter.
At 6:34 a.m., a fight broke out over a motorcycle that caught up with the vehicle carrying Pacheco.
The confrontation between the passengers of both vehicles ended with Leonel Sancho, also 22, stabbing Pacheco in the abdomen.
The assailant fled on the same motorcycle, but was quickly arrested, reported the head of District Security, Fernando Homsi.
For his part, Pacheco, rushed to the municipal hospital, underwent surgery for the injury, but died.
Hours later, as a result of the raids carried out by the security forces, Sancho was tracked down, arrested with blood stains, and taken to a police station in the area.
However, “Lecherita”, as the offender is known, had to be transferred to another unit. The reason: in the afternoon, relatives and residents of General Pinto demanded justice for Pacheco in front of the police station. Much of the anger was linked to the fact that, according to neighbors, Sancho is a “beneficiary of the revolving door of Justice.”
As a result of the lack of responses, others went to the murderer’s house, a stolen property, and set it on fire. By not allowing firefighters to enter, the house was completely destroyed. Damage was also recorded on the fronts of different public establishments in the area.
There were clashes with the Departmental Support Group who, using rubber bullets and tear gas, tried to discourage those who threw stones and caused disturbances.
The Democracia news site also reported that three police officers were injured with cuts to their scalps.
