The Spanish LaLiga season for Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid has not been the best, since since date 12 of the championship they have not occupied the first position in the standings.
For now, the merengue team is second in the table with 59 units and this Saturday they will face Cádiz (13 hours from Guatemala) as a visit where they will be able to momentarily reduce Barcelona’s advantage to 10 points, since the culé team plays on Sunday against Getafe (8:15AM) and units could be left.
After 28 games played, Real Madrid has achieved 18 wins, five draws and five losses. Barcelona for its part, has added 23 wins, three draws and only two losses.
Currently there are 13 points that separate the first and second places in LaLiga, however, with 30 units still in dispute, the Merengue team still has mathematical possibilities to win the league title at the end of the season.
What does Real Madrid need?
For those from the capital of Spain to be able to lift their 36th league title, they must not stop adding, that is, it is not worth losing. The first scenario for Madrid would be to win all their games and obtain the 30 points still in dispute and the other, to divide between wins and draws.
The dilemma that the white team faces is that it does not depend on itself, since it needs Barcelona to stop scoring in at least five games (if the Meringues win five) or in six if Madrid draw.
The outlook looks complicated, however, winning LaLiga is still possible for Madrid, and if they did, they would obtain the two-time Spanish championship, a feat that the Spanish capital have not achieved since 2008.
A 13-point advantage has never been traced back in the history of LaLiga. Madrid does know what it is to turn a season around, since it has achieved it three times: In 2003, 2007 and in 2020.
