Daniel Håkans (22) was a bright spot for Vålerenga this season. Now the club from Oslo has to do without the Finn in the coming weeks.

The speedy winger was injured after colliding with Stjørdals-Blink’s goalkeeper in the cup. He was later back on the field against Viking, but afterwards Vålerenga discovered that Håkans had to go under the knife.

– He had a piece of cartilage removed from his knee joint during an arthroscopic operation and will be ready again in a few weeks, says Vålerenga doctor Erik Rosenlund to the VIF website.

There have been some eventful days for Vålerenga lately. On Wednesday morning it was announced that they are bringing in former Lillestrøm coach Geir Bakke. In the evening, they then defeated Brann 3-2 in the quarter-finals of the cup.
