The Argentine producer and musician Bizarrap changes his name to Bizapop to announce a new session, number 57, in a short film inspired by “The Wolf of Wall Street” in which he has the collaboration of Argentine actors Guillermo Francella and Gastón Cocchiarale.
The clip begins with a scene very similar to the most iconic of Martin Scorsese’s film, with Bizarrap standing on a table haranguing a crazy office, full of young people in suits who dance, drink and celebrate their business successes (“we’re closing the business!” Arabia!” one shouts).
The euphoria reaches its zenith when the Argentine producer (who signed the script with the director of the short, Jaime James) announces that they have managed to surpass 8.5 billion views on Spotify. In the role of Bizarrap’s right-hand man and main entertainer of the self-parody party, the actor Gastón Cocchiarale.
The celebration is abruptly cut short when an executive, played by the popular Argentine actor Guillermo Francella (“The Secret in Their Eyes”) calls Bizarrap to the office, who comes submissively.
“They don’t even know what they’re celebrating. “They didn’t understand anything,” says Francella, who after showing a series of screenshots about the possibility of changing the name from “Bizarrap” to “Bizapop” asks him: “Do you remember what you told me when all this started? ”.
“That I had to take advantage of my blue eyes more,” laughs Bizarrap while pointing to his everlasting sunglasses, and “that the more people listened to us, it was going to be more difficult to satisfy everyone,” adds the producer.
“And do you remember what I answered you? That when that happened, you had to understand that people do not choose what music to listen to, but it is the music that chooses who wants to listen to it (…) sometimes I would like to hear what the music thinks of all of us,” he says. Francella.
“Me too? “Who do I have to listen to?” Bizarrap then asks him, leaving the answer for next October 4, when his new session will be published.
Named Gonzalo Julián Conde, the Bizarrap phenomenon first established itself among the younger public thanks to the popularity of his collaborations with artists such as Villano Antillano, Tiago PZK or, above all, session number 52 with the Spanish Quevedo, which was number 1 worldwide for seven weeks.
Some of these works earned him the chance to become the most listened to Argentine artist in the world in 2020 and in 2021 he accumulated four Latin Grammy nominations under the categories of “Producer of the Year” and “Best New Artist.” His last session was signed with the Puerto Rican Rauw Alejandro.
