In recent weeks, different cases of apartment robberies with the “black widow” modality (women who seduce a person to enter their home and then put them to sleep to plunder them) made headlines in the City of Buenos Aires. Now the Buenos Aires Police reported that five women and one man were arrested in the framework of that investigation.
Thus, in the last few hours, three raids were carried out on homes in Villa Lugano and Constitución, in which five women (two aged 24 and the remaining 20, 23 and 31 years old) and one man (22 years old) were arrested.
In total, officers seized US$4,157, CAD$100, GBP5, 577,000 pesos, 18 cell phones, clothing, a camera, a video console, marijuana sting, two chargers, 28 phone cases. , two watches, a 9mm case, a 9mm projectile, a 45mm case, a 12/70 shotgun shell, a 45mm lead, and Clonazepam tablets and other medications.
Regarding the criminal acts, the defendants implemented the same methodology: they made appointments with the victims and at one point of the meeting they put them to sleep by introducing sleeping pills into their drinks. When they fell asleep, the women stole valuables and fled.
The two black widows, entering the building
The detainees were found to have at least four criminal acts. One was the best known, held on March 18, in Guatemala at 5800, where two women seduced an American tourist in a dance venue and then went to his home. There they put him to sleep and stole his belongings.
For this, the department’s security camera was key to finding the perpetrators. According to the record, around 5:30 in the morning the man, dressed in a light blue shirt, can be seen entering the apartment he was renting. Behind him came two women, one dark-haired in a white dress and the other with red hair, wearing a red top.
The sequence has a time jump of almost three hours: the next filming is already daytime, at 8 in the morning. The two women leave through the access door, alone. They carry several loaded bags and a black backpack. The brunette came to change her clothes. When leaving, they get into a car that was waiting for them. The man who was driving that vehicle is the other detainee.
The two women took cash, a computer, clothes and even shoes from him. They robbed the tourist to such an extent that he had to take the flight back home in flip flops.
The viralization of the video generated that another similar case was known that same day, in which the same widows would be protagonists. It happened in San Ignacio at 3600, where three men received the defendants and after drinking drinks they fell asleep and enabled the thieves to act.
The third was in Junín at 1100, with a victim, and the rest was in an apartment on Avenida Juan Bautista Alberdi at 600, with another victim, whose cell phone, cash and other objects were stolen.
