Some neighbors who complained about plants outside a woman’s house next door now say they didn’t expect the results they got from the community’s response.

Alexandra Wilson-Jones had been warned to remove her colorful flower pots from the front of her house in Dorset, southern Britain, after complaints from some of her neighbours, according to the town hall.

And a few months later the woman removed her big vases with the beautiful flowers and the facade was completely empty.

But now the neighbors complain that the alley looks very deserted and they did not expect to have such a view.

Cornwall council officials previously said the complaint was fair as the plants had been placed in a common space without proper approval and that they had received complaints from residents.

Alexandra had previously said: “The municipality told me that I had to completely modify the plants that I kept in front of the house and if I didn’t do it before January they would all be removed.”

The woman had obeyed orders and has now moved about 70 to the south.

But her former neighbors in Cornwall are furious with officials, saying they overstepped their authority and failed to take the majority’s opinion into account.

One of her neighbors told The Sun: “As far as I can see she has done nothing wrong. Her flowers were a joy to look at and really brightened up the place.”

“In our street we don’t have gardens in front of the houses, as there are usually in British residential streets, so her plants and flowers drew attention from the stone houses.”

Another neighbor added according to the media: “People coming from other areas of the neighborhood were inspired by what Alexandra did with her potted plants.”

“Her flowers were amazing last year, I can’t believe anyone could complain about such a display of plants.”

Another neighbor said: “Many believe Alexandra was targeted because she brought her individuality to this country. This seems to create enemies here, but my husband and I really enjoyed looking at its flowery facade.”

Alexandra left the area at the beginning of the year and therefore took her flowers with her to the new house.

A spokesman for Cornwall Council declined to comment on the matter, according to The Sun.
