In the document sent to Judge Castel, Greenwood evidences the discomfort and frustration on the part of the legal defense team of the former Honduran ruler.
“There is a pattern of delay in the government’s response to correspondence about the above, causing significant delays. My staff and I have had numerous conversations with the defense attorneys and continue to update them on the status of the above issues. defense attorneys They have expressed their frustration with the government’s stalled responses to our inquiries, which has delayed our work,” he said.
“On June 1, 2023, I expressed to the government a request and my availability for a follow-up meeting and conference to discuss the remaining issues, especially as many have been pending for some time. In short, no meeting has taken place since then, despite my availability and expressions of urgency, ”he adds in the report.
TRIAL MAY BE POSTPONED
The trial against Former President Juan Orlando Hernándezscheduled for September, could be set on a new date, due to the requests of the defense and the delays of the Prosecutor’s Office in the delivery of classified documentation.
