Esteban Rojas Almada, 45, a Paraguayan national, has been on the run since his girlfriend, Ferni Ayala, was found murdered on February 19.
The Government established this Wednesday a reward of five million pesos for those people who provide useful information that helps to find Esteban Rojas Almada, 45, the Paraguayan national lender who is on the run for the femicide of his partner Ferni Ayala in the neighborhood Zavaleta.
The amount was made official this Wednesday through Resolution 281/2023, which was published in the latest edition of the Official Gazette and which was signed by the leader of the Ministry of National Security, Aníbal Fernández.
The defendant, on whom a national arrest warrant has been issued since February 20, 2023 and an international one since the 24th of that same month, is charged with the crime of “aggravated homicide by the bond, for its commission by a man against a woman, mediating gender violence and through the use of a firearm”.
Those who want to provide information that allows their whereabouts to be found, must contact the National Rewards Program by telephone, at number 134.

“The payment of the reward will be made in this Ministry or in the place designated by the representative of this State Portfolio, following a report from the representative of the intervening authority on the merits of the information provided, preserving the identity of the contributor,” the Article details. 3rd of the resolution.
The main suspicion of the investigators is that Rojas, who has financial resources, could be taking refuge somewhere in the interior of the country, or that he could even have fled to his native country, Paraguay, through some clandestine passage or with false documentation, in the almost 24 hours he had to flee from the time the crime was committed until it was discovered.
The crime of the fugitive lender accused of femicide
The femicide of Ferni Ayala (28) was committed at dawn on Sunday, February 19, on the first floor of house 187 located on Lavardén street, block 18, in the 21-24 Zavaleta neighborhood, but it was only discovered the next day.
Agents from the 4D Neighborhood Police Station were summoned to the place and verified that Ayala was murdered, after two of the victim’s sisters who hours before had filed the complaint to find out whereabouts broke down the door of the apartment with the help of a neighbor and found the corpse.
Esteban Rojas could be taking refuge in a province or have escaped to Paraguay.

The victim’s family told the press and investigators that a comment about an ex-partner of Ferni’s, made that night by a friend of the victim and which angered Rojas, could have been the motive for the femicide.
