The Secretary of Security, through its head Gustavo Sánchez, announced this Friday that as of September 29, the issuance of physical driver’s licenses will resume.
This process had been suspended since January and a few weeks ago the digital licensing process had begun.
Gustavo Sánchez recognized that the relaunch of the process of physically issuing driving licenses is being done with “a backlog of almost 100 thousand driving licenses.”
The delivery of physical licenses for those who have digital licenses begins on Monday, October 2.
The head of Security recalled that since he took office there was already a delay because there was no material due to the paralysis of the bidding process.
In that sense, he announced that an internal restructuring was carried out in the Ministry of Security and a process of strengthening different units and directorates internally, specifically strengthening the bidding unit to resume more than 40 bidding processes that were stopped.
