The robbery caused a commotion in the place where there are usually no incidents and put the authorities on alert, who as of today intensified security measures in the area.
Unofficially, it was reported that the criminals managed to break into the vault and steal the shipment that was waiting to be dispatched this Monday.
“The first investigations indicate that they arrived through an alternative route and upon arrival, they violated the security guard and tied him up. They were able to enter the vault and take the ingots that they transported in a van that they also stole,” confided an investigative source. .
Criminalistics personnel and the San Julián Investigations Delegation worked at the site, which carried out operations in various sectors of the province in search of the criminal gang.
So far, the truck has not been recovered, nor the cargo, and all the members of the coup are fugitives.
After the violent robbery, the international company decided to stop operations in all areas for security reasons, according to Opinión Austral.
There is a history of robbery in the place. It was almost four years ago -in July 2019-, when two security employees from the same mining site were responsible for the theft of a gold bar. It was a “bullion doré” that weighed between 10 and 12 kilograms.
