More about Vertex S+ Modules:
Satisfies every taste: optimal bifacial and monofacial options under 2 m²
Roofs and individual preferences may vary slightly between application scenarios. That’s why Vertex S+ is available in two specifications. The monofacial NEG9R.28 comes with a white back encapsulation for maximum output power, with power up to 445W+ and an efficiency of 22.3%. The transparent NEG9RC.27, on the other hand, is preferred for high-quality aesthetic applications, for example on roofs of houses where only the grids between the cells would optically disappear. This bifacial module is rated at 435W+ at the front, with an efficiency of 21.8%, with additional power at the back up to 80% of the power at the front. Both types have an area of just under 2 square meters (1’762*1’134*30mm) for ease of use and a black aluminum frame.
A powerful heart: one type of i-TOPCon cells
Like all Trina Solar modules, Vertex S+ is based on the 210mm Vertex technology platform. In addition, the shift to n-type i-TOPCon cells allows the module to generate approximately 10% more energy over 30 years compared to its p-type peers. In addition, n-type cells have a 50% lower initial degradation and an 11% lower annual power attenuation. The combination of both factors – higher power and lower degradation – results in significantly higher power generation for owners over the life of the module and improved reliability.
Trina Solar has expanded its brand new vertically integrated n-type plant to supply n-type i-TOPCon cells for modules of all sizes. The new generation of Vertex S+ is already rolling off the fully automated production lines.
Reliable and durable: double-glazed structure
Vertex S+ is the first roof module on the market with a robust, low-weight, double-glazed structure, where the plastic backing is replaced by a second layer of glass. Double-glazed designs are therefore very reliable and provide perfect protection for decades, making this module structure extremely resistant to salt spray, acids and bases. Glass is a perfect and symmetrical sealant, preventing moisture from entering and minimizing the load on the cells. In addition, double-glazed modules offer the highest possible fire safety. But not only that: the omission of the backsheet also reduces the use of plastics, further improving the module’s carbon footprint and recycling at the end of its life.
Usage and Compatibility: Designed with the installer in mind
Advances in glass processing allowed Trina Solar to use two layers of ultra-thin glass with a thickness of just 1.6mm, resulting in a low weight of 21.1kg, which is comparable to backsheet modules. This means that installers can handle the new Vertex S+ on the roof as they have always done with conventional PV modules.
When it comes to installation, Vertex S+ is highly compatible with other solar system components. It offers a variety of mounting methods including short and long side clamping, cross bar, split rail and slide-in mounting. Its low short-circuit current also makes it compatible with over 99% of mainstream inverters on the market, as verified by a comprehensive compatibility analysis.
Peace of mind for 30 years and beyond
PV systems built with Vertex S+ will still provide solar power to our children and grandchildren as the product comes with a 30-year ultra-long performance warranty. Mechanical integrity is guaranteed for 25 years, instead of the 15-year industry standard. These extended warranties are proof of Trina Solar’s confidence in its double glass technology and long-term performance of n-type cells.
Creating customer value and trust
Vertex S+ will greatly assist installers with a solid value proposition, enabling them to offer customers the best investment in terms of guaranteed and increased solar energy. With an innovative lightweight double-glazed structure, it offers superior performance and safety benefits. Using more glass reduces the use of plastic and increases durability, extending the life and recyclability of the panel.
This product creates added value for both installers and end customers in the field of energy yield, durability and durability, in short, future-proof solar power.
