The only thing slowing Donald Trump’s impeachment last week was his own fingers, according to a new report from Yahoo News. A court employee had to provide lotion because his fingers were too dry to take fingerprints, the report claimed, citing a law enforcement source.
According to Yahoo News, no one visibly cried in the courthouse when Trump was arrested, which the former president alleged to Tucker Carlson in an interview that aired Tuesday. The only delay in his charges came when he had to moisten his fingers with lotion, as they were too dry for authorities to take his fingerprints, according to the report.
Last Tuesday, a grand jury in Manhattan indicted Trump on 34 counts of business fraudin connection with allegations of a $130,000 hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.
Trump’s attorney did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment. The DA’s Manhattan office did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
In an interview with Tucker Carlson which aired Tuesday night, Trump said employees cried when he was arrested.
“It’s a tough, tough place, and they cried. They actually cried. They said, ‘I’m sorry.’ They said, “2024, sir, 2024.” And tears streamed down their eyes,” Trump told Carlson.
A law enforcement source told Yahoo News, the claim was “absolute BS.”
“There were zero people crying. There were zero people saying ‘I’m sorry,'” the source told Yahoo.
