Video footage from the tarmac at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Worldwide Airport confirmed the scene moments after two planes operated by Delta Air Traces clipped one another Tuesday.
Delta Air Traces Flight 295, an Airbus A350, was taxiing for departure when its wingtip struck the tail of Endeavor Air Flight 5526, the airline advised Fox Information Digital.
“The Delta Airbus A350 was headed to Tokyo. The Endeavor Bombardier CRJ900 was headed to Lafayette, Louisiana,” the Federal Aviation Administration advised Fox Information Digital. “The FAA will examine the incident, which occurred on the intersection of two taxiways round 10:10 a.m. native time on Tuesday, Sept. 10.”
The footage exhibits an airplane with its wingtip severed from the plane. The footage gave the impression to be taken by somebody in a transferring car on the tarmac.

“Nicely, that was terrifying. Taxiing out for the flight from Atlanta to Louisiana and one other aircraft seems to have clipped the again of our aircraft,” WFTS Meteorologist Jason Adams posted on X. “Very jarring, steel scraping sounds then loud bangs. We’re advantageous. No fireplace or smoke.”

Nobody was injured on the time of the incident, and operations continued as regular, Delta mentioned. The airline’s TechOps moved the plane to upkeep hangars for analysis, it mentioned.
“There have been 221 clients on DL295 and 56 clients on DL5526,” the airline mentioned. “Right now, no further operational changes are anticipated.”
Hartsfield-Jackson Worldwide ranked because the world’s busiest airport for passenger quantity in 2023, when it served greater than 104.6 million vacationers, in response to a report by the Airports Council Worldwide in April. It has constantly held the highest spot in recent times.
