The ministry requested the affiliation, which represents rice exporters and processors, to order its members to strictly observe the rule of sustaining rice reserves equal to no less than 5% of their export quantity within the earlier six months.

The ministry, in a separate doc, known as on rice merchants to steadiness between exports and home gross sales to stabilise home costs.

Vietnam is the world’s third-largest rice exporter, after India and Thailand. Its rice shipments within the first half of this 12 months rose 21.3% from a 12 months earlier to 4.24 million tonnes, in keeping with the federal government’s customs information.
