A Northern Virginia man who was working a late night shift driving for the rideshare company Lyft was shot in Washington, D.C., just after midnight Monday, and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect seen on video fleeing the scene.
The Metropolitan Police Department said in a press release that officers responded to the 400 block of 11th Street, Northeast, just after midnight Monday for reports of an unconscious person.
When officers arrived, they found an adult male, later identified as 31-year-old Nasrat Ahmad Yar, of Alexandria, Virginia, who had been the victim of a vehicular shooting.

He was also reportedly working as a Lyft driver when he was killed.
“Our hearts are with Mr. Nasrat’s loved ones as they cope with this unspeakable tragedy,” a Lyft spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Thursday. “We have reached out to his family to offer our support and are in contact with the police to assist with their investigation.”
