It did so through a Resolution of the Ministry of Development, published in the Official Gazette. The increase, which will take effect in May, is 35%.
The Government made official this Tuesday the increase in the monthly amount received through the Alimentar Card by the families benefited by the “Argentine Plan Against Hunger”. The updated sum, which as always can be used only for the purchase of food, had an increase of 35%.
The measure, which had been announced on April 11 by the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, and his Social Development counterpart, Victoria Tolosa Paz, after a meeting with Alberto Fernández, was ratified through Resolution 700/2023 published in the latest edition of the Official Gazette.
According to the recitals of the regulations, the “increases in the benefits paid through the Alimentar Card, intended for families in a situation of social vulnerability” will have an impact “from the settlement to take effect in the month of May 2023”.
“We are doing this increase understanding the enormous need to continue working to take care of access to the basic food basket,” Tolosa Paz specified more than two weeks ago in the brief message announcing the increases, which was previously recorded and broadcast on YouTube.
The minister also explained that March is a “key month” because the amount of the Universal Child Allowance increases by law. Together with the Alimentar Card coverage, they have an impact on 4 million children and 2.3 million households.
The measure adds $121,000 million to the already existing investment of the national State for the food security of children and adolescents.
The last increase had been arranged last November and had raised the amounts by 40%.
What are the new amounts of the Alimentar Card

Families with three or more children, for their part, will take their current sum of $25,000 to $34,000.
