The group promoting the Children’s Elections is preparing for the massive participation of Guatemalan girls and boys who will vote on June 25.
Under the slogan “Children with a voice and vote”, the Children’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal is preparing to make a massive call to vote and encourage the little ones to also be part of the exercise, just like their parents.
The activity, which has been carried out for 28 years in Guatemala, has as its objective that children have an approach to the principles of democracy that allow them to choose the rulers of the nation.

Children’s elections 2023: requirements

How to register children

The steps to make the electronic registration are the following:
You must enter the site www.eleccionesinfantiles.org/ and click on “Register here”. With the support of a parent or guardian, the child’s personal data must be entered: name, age, sex, date of birth, department, municipality of residence and an email. Once the data is entered, the terms and conditions must be accepted. You must click on “see registration card”. In that same link you can download it to print it and thus have it ready to present it at the voting center. The site also has a course of 14 educational and civic training modules that children can take optionally.

An important fact is that the date for children to register online has been extended until further notice. In the same way, the organizers ask to register days before to avoid saturation of the system.

Children’s elections 2023
The first children’s votes in Guatemala were held in 1995 and since then they have been promoted to become a national program that takes place every four years.
Children’s Elections are an exercise in democratic participation for children and have been held for 28 years in Guatemala.
