From the Ministry of Development they assured that the Piquetera Unit owes surrenders and said that the central axis of the discussion was the food delivery schedule. Eduardo Belliboni confirmed the payment of a special bonus of 22,000 pesos for the beneficiaries of Potenciar.
When everything led to the belief that the piquetero groups would spend the night in front of the Ministry of Social Development, after a long day of demonstrations, the social leader Eduardo Belliboni announced that the encampment would be lifted, after they managed to reach an agreement with the Government that left well marked points.
While the protests were taking place in different key points in the City of Buenos Aires, authorities from the portfolio led by Victoria Tolosa Paz met with the representatives of the organizations grouped in the Piquetera Unit and there demanded that they render the accounts that they owe on the food agreements, with the warning that, if they did not do so, the ministry will not be able to guarantee compliance with the agreement.
“90 percent do not yield the merchandise that is delivered. It is not negotiated under extortion,” warned sources from the Ministry, and assured that “there is compliance in the delivery in almost its entirety.”
Finally, after several hours, they reached a point of understanding and a food delivery schedule was established, while it was established that in cases such as oil, flour and sugar, whose provision sometimes suffers delays due to lack of suppliers, compensation is made with transfer agreements.
“We conquered this. We have the food assistance schedule from here to the next few days so that each dining room receives the corresponding food,” Belliboni celebrated on Tuesday night, after confirming the lifting of a protest that included a camp on 9 July, a burning of tires and the partial occupation of an annex of the Ministry of Development.
In parallel, the social leader confirmed: “In addition, we have the announcement that the bonus that we were waiting for (NdeR: for the beneficiaries of Potenciar Trabajo) and that the Government had not defined the date, will be charged in the next ten days.” According to him, the special bonus will be $22,000.
