The renowned actor Andrés García passed away on April 4 as a result of various medical problems caused by cirrhosis of the liver.
More than two months after his death, the testament of the artist born in the Dominican Republic was read, who as his last will named his widow Margarita Portillo, his stepson Andrés Portillo, his sister Rosa García and his firstborn Andrés García Jr. as his heirs.
Each of them will have 25 percent of his fortune, which includes property, cars and his image rights.
However, it was not until June 21 when Margarita Portillo finally revealed what she inherited from Andrés García.
“The testator orders that all his valuables, such as jewelry, cars, clothing, any commercial effects, furniture in general, or any other property that can be transferred by inheritance will pass to Mrs. Margarita María Portillo Castrejón” , read the actor’s widow before the cameras of an entertainment program.

“The testator arrives the rights of intellectual property, biographical, image, and cinematography to Mrs. Margarita María Portillo Castrejón,” he continued.
“The rights and royalties of the repetitions of television series and soap operas to Mrs. Margarita María Portillo Castrejón,” he concluded.

In addition, Margarita Portillo’s lawyer, Roberto Flores Treviño, explained that the actor’s widow will be in charge of instructing the notary to begin the quantification of Andrés García’s assets.
These assets will be distributed among their heirs as soon as the full result is obtained, according to the jurist.

“Mrs. Margarita, who is the executor, has already instructed the notary to start an investigation and once that investigation is finished, that we have the quantification of the assets of the hereditary estate, then we can proceed with the appraisal, and she it will go on to distribute them,” he said.
