12 people who were part of a criminal structure called “Los Ordóñez”, dedicated to crimes related to drug trafficking, were captured this Wednesday by elements of the National Civil Police after carrying out 24 raids in Huehuetenango and others in Santa Rosa.

The authorities reported that the raids were carried out by investigators from the General Subdirectorate for the Analysis of Anti-Narcotics Information (SGAIA) in coordination with the Public Ministry (MP).

According to investigations carried out by the MP, the detainees “were part of a criminal structure dedicated to the refinement, storage and retail sale of cocaine in the department of Huehuetenango, which is linked to ten criminal acts.”

Those captured in Huehuetenango were identified as 25-year-old Andrea “N”, 26-year-old Amílcar “N”, 37-year-old Cindy “N”, 38-year-old Eduardo “N”, 32-year-old Jessica “N”, Gladys “N” ” 30 years old, Yohana “N” 28 years old and Jorge “N” 44 years old.

For its part, the PNC reported that in the village of Monterrico, in Taxisco, Santa Rosa, two other members of the criminal network, identified as Luis “N” and Mirna, were arrested.

The last two captured were identified as 35-year-old Leonel “N” and 53-year-old Jorge “N”. The PNC added that these last two were seized 17 “fangs” with cocaine and the amount of Q900, money that according to the authorities, was the product of the sale of narcotics.

All those captured are accused of “commerce, trafficking and storage and illicit associations”, according to the orders placed on June 15 and 28 issued by a court in Huehuetenango.

In addition to the captures and the seized drugs, the authorities reported that the amount of Q67 thousand 228 was found, a pistol with his license, six cell phones and a motorcycle.
