In The Avengers, Hawkeye is under the control of Loki’s mind for most of the film, leading Jeremy Renner to feel “(for) 90% of the movie, (he’s) not the character (he) signed up to play.” During filming, he improvised with a heart attack hoping they would kill off his character.
