3,800 candidates took part in the first FIFA (www.FIFA.com) football agent exam; 1,962 candidates (52%) passed and are therefore eligible for a football agent license; Next exam scheduled for September 20, 2023; From 1 October 2023, the use of recognized football agents is mandatory for transfers
A total of 1,962 candidates, equivalent to 52% of the 3,800 who took the first-ever FIFA football agent exam on April 19, passed the mark required to be licensed to provide brokerage services in the context of global transfers.
Although originally 6,586 candidates applied for the license, FIFA ultimately received only 3,800 exam entries. All candidates will receive their results, with further opportunities for unsuccessful candidates to retake the exam on 20 September 2023 and again in May and November 2024.
Around 300 FIFA Agent Platform administrators helped administer the exam, which was taken by candidates from 138 member associations. The exam was held in different time zones, with the former starting at 02:00 CET on April 19 and ending at 03:00 CET on April 20.
The licensing system is one of the pillars of the FIFA Football Agent Regulations, which aim to raise the professional and ethical standards of the profession.
After a transitional period, the use of licensed football agents for transfers will become mandatory from 1 October 2023.
